Synchronous stdlib I/O. Output receives UTF-8 text without an implicit newline. Input returns a string (including an empty line), or null/undefined for EOF. Line endings are stripped by stdlib. Promises are rejected. An output exception is reported after the enclosing access returns; side effects may already exist.

• output (function, optional) — Output callback; default discards text.
• input (function, optional) — Input callback; default EOF.
